About Steve Macadam

Mr. Macadam served as CEO and president of EnPro Industries, Inc. from April 2008 through July 2019, then through the end of February 2020 as vice chairman of EnPro’s board. Prior to joining EnPro, he was CEO of BlueLinx Holdings, Inc. Before joining BlueLinx in October 2005, he was the President and CEO of Consolidated Container Company, LLC, since August 2001.

He served previously with Georgia-Pacific Corp. where he was executive vice president, Pulp & Paperboard  and other positions from 1998  until  2001. Prior he was a partner with McKinsey and Company  from 1988 until 1998.

He received a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Kentucky, an MS in finance from Boston College, and an MBA from Harvard University, where he was a Baker Scholar.

He currently serves as an independent director on the boards of Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (NYSE:LPX)and Atmus Filtration Technologies (NYSE:ATMU) having previously served on numerous corporate  boards.  He also serves on the board of Purpose Built Communities, a national non-profit organization focused on place-based comprehensive community development in neighborhoods of concentrated poverty. 

His work is now primarily focused on helping leaders understand and implement a “Dual Bottom Line” organizational philosophy that was central to EnPro’s success. 

He is married with four children and resides in Atlanta.
